Dealing With Domestic Violence

Domestic violence is a very difficult situation to escape from.

As a victim, you may try to explain away the problem, instead of dealing with it, even making excuses for your abuser. You may blame yourself or feel, in some way, that you deserve the abuse, or cause it to happen. This of course is not true, but if you are dealing with any of these below, then you may be a victim of domestic abuse and need some help.

Domestic Violence can include :

Verbal Abuse – Criticism, shouting, verbal threats, name calling, mocking etc

Harassment – Constant checking where you are, who you are with and what you are doing.

Threats – violent threats, intimidating, brandishing a weapon

Physical – punching, kicking, pushing, slapping, burning

Excessive control

Mood swings and extreme emotions

Counselling can be an important tool for the victim, to encourage and help them overcome the trauma, recover and start to rebuild their life in a more positive way.

I can provide a safe environment, where you can talk through your worries and together we can work through your issues, helping you to get your life back on track and be able to move on from your violent relationship, as NOBODY deserves to be treated in this way.
