Dealing With Alcohol

Whether you feel the need for a glass of wine, to unwind, at the end of a hectic day, or you go out over the weekend and binge drink to excess, or you reach for that unfinished drink from the night before, the moment you wake up… alcohol can become a problem in our lives.

Obviously, there is a massive difference  between having a drink at the end of the day, to being an alcoholic, but the repercussions can still be similar as we can all lose control when under the influence of alcohol, leading to health and emotional problems.

The first step is realising that maybe alcohol is beginning to control you, rather than you controlling it! Reaching for that glass of wine at the end of the day may seem like a comforting option, but when you really stop and think about it, and realise its becoming a habit, then you could be getting yourself into a rocky relationship with alcohol.

Whether you feel this is true and you would like to learn different, more healthy ways to deal with life, or whether you know your drinking is already out of control, and need advice. then I can help.

In my counselling sessions we can discuss the reason why you feel you have lost control over your alcohol use. I will not judge the amount you drink but instead we can talk things through, and get to the bottom of why you feel you use alcohol as a coping mechanism.
